The Present Simple Tense

Main Usage:
habitual actions, general truths and descriptions.
·
Formation
: the infinitive form of the verb – an (s) is added with the third person
singular.
Words
used with the tense: every – sometimes – often – always –
never – usually.
Examples
* Correct the verbs between brackets:
1-On Thursday we (go) to the cinema.
*On Thursday we go
to the cinema.
2-Idle people (lose) a lot of pleasure in
life.
*Idle people lose
a lot of pleasure in life.
3-You (not know) the correct answer.
*You don’t know
the correct answer.
4-He (have) breakfast at seven o’clock
everyday.
*He has
breakfast at seven o’clock everyday.
5-She (hate) playing cards.
*She hates
playing cards.
6-The postman usually (bring) the letters
twice a day.
*The postman usually
brings the letters twice a day.
7-She often (go) to work by bus and (come)
home on foot.
*She often goes
to work by bus and comes home on foot.
8-They always (meet) him at the club every
Friday.
*They always meet
him at the club every Friday.
9-She (teach) English well ? No, she (not
do).
*Does she teach
English well ? No, she doesn’t.
10-The baby always (cry) when it (be)
hungry.

The Future Simple Tense
* Formation : ( will ) or ( shall ) + infinitive.
* Main usage : an action that will happen in the future.
* Words used with the tense : next - tomorrow - in the future - etc

Examples
1 - I ( be ) here tomorrow morning.
* I shall be here tomorrow morning.
2- He ( not lend ) you any more money.
* He will not lend you any more money.
3- She ( be ) married this spring.
* She will be married this spring.
4- We ( meet ) the manager next week.
* We shall meet the manager next week.
5- Mr. Ashraf ( be ) an ambassador in six
months.
* Mr. Ashraf will be an ambassador in six
months.
6- She ( tell ) you all about it if you ask her.
* She will tell you all about it if you
ask her.
7- If you ( be ) in a hurry, I ( call ) a taxi.
* If you are in a hurry, I shall call
a taxi.
8- In the future, you ( find out ) the truth.
* In the future, you will find out the
truth.
9- When you ( take ) the final examination ?
* When will you take the final
examination ?
10- You ( not leave ) till you ( promise ) to
come again
