Covalent compounds are formed of nonmetal elements by sharing electrons without gaining or losing.
Writing the chemical formulas of the covalent compounds which are formed from two elements
The symbol of the firstly pronounced nonmetal is being written first, followed by the symbol of the second nonmetal which is preceded by the prefix which indicates the number of its repetition in the formula of the compound.

Write the chemical formulas of the following compounds :
(1) Hydrogen iodide.
(2) Nitrogen dioxide.
(3) Sulphur trioxide.
(4) Nitrogen trifluoride.
(5) Sulphur tetrachloride.

3 – Oxyacids amd non oxyacids compounds:
All chemical formulas of the acids are similar in that they all begin with a positive hydrogen ion , the acids can be classified into :

(1) Nitric acid.    (2) Sulphurous acid.   (3) Chloric acid.

(4) Hydrobromic acid.   (5) Hydroiodic acid.
