Summary
Running to different places: الهروب إلى أماكن مختلفة
• Toby Crackit and Mr Sikes ran all through the night after the robbery. To make it harder for anyone to follow يتبع them, they decided to run to different places. Mr Sikes stayed in the country, but Toby Crackit went to London to find Fagin.

• When Fagin knew that the robbery سرقة had not been successful, he was not at all happy.

• Rose, a pretty جميلة girl of seventeen who lived with Mrs Maylie, asked if Gulliver was hurt. She said they had to get a doctor at once. Mrs Maylie asked Mr Giles to carry Oliver up to his room.

• Dr Losberne was surprised to hear about the robbery before seeing the patient. He asked the two women to see the thief. They went up to the bedroom nervously. They thought they would see a big, strong man and were very surprised to see a small sleeping boy with a bandage ضمادة on his arm.
• Rose wondered تساءل he such a young boy could be a criminal مجرم. She asked her aunt عمة to be kind to him. He looked so helpless بائس and small. If it hadn't been for لولا her generosity كرم, she might be helpless like that small child.
• The doctor suggested waiting until Oliver could talk to them. Then they could decide what to do with him. Oliver slept for most of that day.

• Later, Oliver was awake مستيقظ. He told them all about his life. When Dr Losberne heard Oliver's story, he realised أدرك that Oliver needed to be helped.

• The doctor wanted to help Oliver, but he didn't know what to say to the detectives. Mrs Maylie told him to tell them the boy's story and asked if he believed him. The doctor said he believed him, but it would not stop a magistrate قاضى المحكمة from sending him to prison. He had run away from the place where he worked, then he joined a gang عصابة of thieves and tried to break into يقتحم a house.
• Rose cried why Mr Brittles had sent for the detectives. The doctor said they must not tell them Oliver's story.

• Oliver said he was very happy to be with them and that Mr Brownlow and his friends would love to know that he was safe.

Mr Brownlow asked a neighbour who told him that Mr Brownlow went to the West Indies جزر الهند الغربية six weeks before.

• A poor woman visited Mrs Corney who was in charge of مسئولة عن the workhouse where Oliver was born. She told her that Nurse Sally did not have much time and she wanted to tell her something important.
• Mrs Corney went to visit Nurse Sally in her cold room. Nurse Sally told her when she was younger, she was a nurse to a woman who died in the workhouse that was the wrong place for her. She was rich enough for a good hospital. She stole from her before she died.
• Mrs Corney looked at the old nurse with interest باهتمام and asked what she had stolen. She told her that the asked her to take a gold locket عقد for the child, who was called Oliver. Mrs Corney asked what she asked her to do, but it was too late. The old nurse was dead.

Summary
