The Bronze Bust Mystery


Chapter (1)
Back to Ancient Rome
I. Answer the following questions:

1. What do we use the time- travel phone for?
We use a time- travel phone for traveling through time.
2. How can you use the time- travel phone?
First, put in the time which you want to visit. Then put in the place. Last of all you must type the password: Adventure, after that press the green button.
3. Where did Robert and Lucy go with the time- travel phones before?
They went to London in 1666 to see the Great Fire of London.
4. Where did the children go with their grandad? Why?
They went to the cinema to see a film.
5. What was the film about?
It was a bout The Romans. It was a story about the life in Ancient Rome in the year 130.
6. Describe the life in Ancient Rome as the children saw in the film.
There were rich people and poor people. There were lots of slaves were owned by the rich. The slaves had to work hard for their masters for no money.
7. What did they also watch in the film?
They watched chariot races at the Circus Maximus and there were gladiators fighting at the Colosseum.
8. What did the grandad shoe the children?
He showed them a very old book about the Romans. The cover was old and torn and some of the pages were loose.

9. What did Robert and Lucy decide to do? Why?
They decided to use the time – travel phones to travel back in time to the Ancient Rome.
10. Where did the children find themselves when they went to the Ancient Rome?
They found themselves in a room with a stone floor. There were large pots in the corners. A bed was near the window and the room was warm and sunny.

Chapter (2)
A party for Senator Julius
I. Answer the following questions:

They met a young boy. He was about a year younger than they were. He wore a long, brown tunic down to his knees like the children they watched in the film.

Stolen!

Lucy said that to the children when they heard a noise and they saw Senator Julius angry.

Marcus said that to the children when they found out that the bronze bust was missing.

Senator Julius said that to Magnus Andronicus when the bronze bust was missing.

A message for Salvius

Mystery at the warehouse

Trapped!

It was a busy, noisy place. It was a smelly place too! It smelt fish, olives, sweaty people and worst of all, it smelt of rotten fruit.
4. How did the children find Titus' ship?
They asked one of the porters and he told them about the ship.
5. What happened to the children in Titus' ship?
They searched for the bust but they couldn't find it, then they heard a noise, it was Titus and he locked the hatch. They were trapped into the ship.

Camilla said that to the children when they were searching for Titus' ship in Ostia port.
2."What do we do if we find out that Titus is a thief?"
Lucy said that to the children when they went to Ostia to search for Titus' ship.

Lucy said that to the children when they were on Titus' ship and they saw Titus then he locked the hatch and they were trapped.

After Titus locked the hatch, the ship began to roll in the water and the weather became so bad and there was a storm.

The batteries weren't working properly.

A battery gives the phone the power it needs to work and without it the time- travel phones wouldn't work at all.

When the children were on Titus' ship, they got wet and so did the phones and they lost their powers.
4. What did Magnus ask the children to do with the phones?
He asked them to put the phones on the hot stones so that the sun and the heat could dry the batteries out.

They had a little power.

They used the time- travel phones.

He told them that he was sorry for being late such a long time on the phone.
