Long ago, when early humans discovered how to make fire, they told their friends. Then those friends told others.  Ideas spread from person to person, and in fact, they still do. However, mass media is different. It brings news and knowledge to many people very quickly. Mass media began around 1440, when Johannes Gutenberg changed the way
news traveled. He invented the printing press. Before the printing press, people had to make copies of books by hand.  Suddenly, this invention could make copies of books much more easily. Then, about 150 years later, people printed the first newspapers in Europe. Today, people around the world read newspapers every day.  Television broadcasting started in the 1930s. Now, television is everywhere, bringing news and entertainment to people around the world. Some stations now offer 24-hour news. Events are broadcast live, while they are happening.  Today, almost one third of the people in the world use the web and this number will continue to grow. The web, or Internet, lets us read news, watch videos, and share information through social networks and blogs. Many people think that the Web is now the most important form of mass media. Are organically grown foods the best food choices? The advantages claimed for such
